Glass Half Full

I could feel my blood pressure rising as I waited at the bus stop today. 4:20 no big deal. 4:30 still not so big a deal, but I start looking at my watch and my patience with Isabel is dwindling. 4:40 trying not to picture poor Max at school all by himself, or flung from the bus after the horrendous crash that must have taken place. 4:45 I called Nathaniel and got him to get me the transportation dept. phone number. I called them and they were very helpful and let me know exactly where Max was and what time he should be at our stop.

I should have been relieved that he was okay, and I guess I was. But then I started stressing about how I had 45 minutes to get Max's homework done, and spend time with him, and get dinner on the table which I hadn't started yet, and leave for the Y by 6:00. I kept cursing the bus under my breath for making my evening difficult. Until I talked to Max. He was thrilled about the bus "adventure" I likened it to a field trip. He got to see the mechanics work on the bus. He got to watch the bus get filled with gas. He got to see were "ALL THE BUSSES ARE PARKED EVERY NIGHT"!!!!!!!!!

I am so thankful that Max can always find the bright side. I listened to him tell me his experiences and I was able to find the bright side too. We got homework done, dinner fixed and some great dinner table conversation!
